Music isn’t what it used to be, its worse. Record label scouts used to nurture talent creating the conditions for artists to thrive. Generational artists like Bob Dylan, Marc Bolan and Ziggy Stardust thrived because record labels financially supported them. These days, artists have to acquire a following before record company interest. Artists who should be enriching people lives with music from the outer galaxy are forced to become promoters, producers, influencers and business men. That’s not how creativity works and quite honestly, it shows in the music. Where are the voices of this generation?

It is not that the old system worked, artists selling their soul at the crossroads for a perfectly tuned guitar. But it did give artists the chance to be artists, and in doing so unlocked music that enriched lives and changed the world. The present economic model is even more perverse: artists make beautiful music woven from painful fragments of their soul— the rewards? There is hope. Blockchain may enable artists to cut out rent-extracting middlemen and allow fans to directly support artists. Easy to say isn’t it? The Claim Drop

Anyone who participates in the PUNK RECORDS by VEGAN ASYULM nft sale or buys the NFTS on the secondary market may be eligible for the claim-drop for PUNK RECORDS DAO ERC20 token, due to launch this spring/summer. We have kept exact criteria vague so the system isn’t gamed by freeloaders and bots. However certain individuals will be favoured for the claim drop in order to incentivise the right type of scouts, scouts that want to invest in music.
